A DAY IN COURT DAY

It has been 6 days and no news of what took place in court.
Fingers, toes, and eyes crossed, and pray.

OUR DAY IN COURT

We had our day in court.
Kind of.
We were not required to be there.
The birth parents were wired money for gas as they live 100
miles away and are out of work.
Our lawyer was not even there. We now sit and wait to hear what
happened.
Praying.

Our Lawyer

Our lawyer seems competent but things keep
changing which is scary. And papers need to be
resigned due to errors on incorrect info ie:
the correct spelling of the birth parents names.

WAITING FOR COURT DAY

Waiting for our day in court to somewhat finalize
the adoption is nearing. The birth parents can still
change their mind up until that day. If this were to
happen we would be totally devastated. We pray
and keep our finger, toes, and eyes crossed.
Our son has now been with us for 67 days
of the most joy we have ever had.

Our Cost to adopt

We had a direct placement adoption which is where
a couple had to give up their newborn due to
financial reasons and they specifically chose us
with out the use of an agency.
Our home study was approximately $2000.00,
and the lawyer fee's were $4000.00.
Hopefully we will be able to deduct these
amounts on next years tax return.

THE SMILE

The first time your child smiles at you and
you know its not gas is one of the best moments
in life!

OUR ADOPTION

My wife and I adopted a new born. It is the best thing
we have ever done.
We were unable to conceive children which is why we adopted.
We should have been open to the thought of adoption even if
we could have conceived children. We now wish to adopt
more children.
Our social worker who did our home study for our adoption
had just adopted a boy who was 15 years old. This is incredible.
I did not even know there were 'homeless' children of that age.
Any one who has the ability to adopt should consider doing
so.
