FDA IS WRONG !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

FDA has our ire up.

With 1 broad stroke from their brush, this inept federal red tape bureaucracy has vilified monitors.

The zz FDA, has a list of products that they claim are ineffective at preventing Sids. Among this product list are "monitors" .They did not specify any type of monitor, and this is where the problem lies.

There is a new monitor made by 'angel care' that can detect when an infant in their crib has stopped breathing. Lets say an infant is in their crib, the alarm goes off, which signals that there is no movement in the crib ie breathing, the parent rushes to the crib and finds the child not breathing, they then perform cpr call 911 and possibly save the infants life.

We now ask the FDA how is this ineffective, useless, or a SCAM ?

Now with the warning from the FDA that MONITOR'S are useless scams, some parents may not purchase this type of device that may have possibly saved their now dead infant from SIDS, because of the Fda's warning !

Why did the FDA not acknowledge this life saving monitor??

The only possible down fall of this breathing/movement monitor is that if there are other vibrations present in the household such as music, washer/dryers, exercisers, a ceiling or floor fan, the monitor will sense these and give a false "ok", so the monitor has to be tweeked/set or not used when other vibrations are present.
If your household is still and quite this monitor works great.

We use this monitor at night when we and our infant are sleeping, and if he were to stop breathing we feel secure that the monitor would alert us to it. It has a sensor pad that goes under the mattress and is so sensitive that it can detect the movement from his breathing.
If we lift him out of the crib and stand still next to the crib the monitor will activate an audible alarm as it is sensing no movement. If we place him back in the crib and stand perfectly still, the monitor shows breathing movement detected by a flashing led light every 10 or 15 seconds.
So with practice and proper use just like everything else, this monitor can save lives.

If the FDA has tested this monitor and has some good insite that would be great.
