TO NO ENDS

Our son had his second cold at one years old, the first was not to bad at 10 months. Except for when he awoke choking on thick mucus. This scared the fecal matter out of us.

We have not yet found any well written material on first aid for mucosa choking. .Some children ingest mucus and then vomit it up.
Trying to keep secretions thinned is the goal.
Fluids , humidity, steam in the bathroom are beneficial.

When using saline nasal spray I warm it up to body temp by putting it in my pocket or under my arm, or between my legs.
Much more research needs to be obtained on how the cilia perform in humans, which are the micro hair like lining of the nasal passage & lungs that beat in a rhythmic wave,
Research does show that temps over 104 slow down the cilia, but warm temps up to 104 benefit cilia.
There is a newer product called "Breathe-ease" that is 'supposed' to be more beneficial to cilia than saline/salt water.
